New 2009 GSXR 750 Exhaust Smoke

I just bought a brand new 2009 GSXR 750 that had 1 mile on it when I bought it. I took it around the block a few times and after I turned it off I noticed some white smoke coming out of the exhaust, just kind of lazily escaping from the exhaust. Is this normal with new bikes? I am hoping it was just some kind of coating burning off or dust, I have no idea how long it sat around before I bought it. It didnt smell like burning oil, it had more of a chemically smell rather then a sweet smell. Another note I turned it on again after the smoke stopped and just let it idle for awhile and gave it a little rpms and the smoke did not reappear. I'm hoping this is completely normal, but I'm just paranoid. Thanks.

not afraid of nothing. The wool is the exhaust when burned completely then you will stop the smoke! when you get another exhaust then you do it again for a few miles

If it's the Oem-exhaust there's no wool near it. Though my smoked a little on the first ride and then it stopped. My guess is the same as yours a little oil/dust that gets burnt. The after-market exhaust I put on a couple of months later (german cheap-shit exhaust to crash with on the track) did smoke the first 50 miles then no more.

My 08 750 did the same thing. You will probably also notice a bit of a burning smell also, nothing to worry about. Like Anders said it will stop in about 50 miles or so.

it's perfectly normal, they are burning all the greaser b/w the joints on the pipe and the header, it'll go away after 2nd or 3rd ride. I usually just leave the bike running until it burns all of it and then ride. Happen every times you put a new exhaust system also.

I've been told that it is extremely unhealthy to breath that smoke, so if you park in a garage, I would let it smoke outside after you've shut down, then wheel it in. At least for the first few miles

Sounds fairly normal. Ensure to break er' in good to seal those rings. Sounds like a little oil is burning...

Thanks for all the replies guys. You definitely helped to ease my paranoia. I'll try not to breath in that smoke, I guess it wasn't very healthy that I put my nose up to it and gave it a big ol' sniff. j/k. Thanks again all.
