I just recently upgraded to a k6 GSXR 1000 as my 2nd bike. My first bike was a Ninja 500r. That bike taught me so much it isnt even funny. I definitely understand why people say start on smaller bikes. But im loving the hell out of my Gixxer. Cant wait to learn from it as well.
Also from Tampa. Currently on a Ninja 300 looking to upgrade. I agree that you can learn a lot from a smaller bike and push it to the limits. Looking to get a used GSXR myself, unless there's a killer deal for a new one.
Welcome, both of ya's Glad to see you starting on good learning bikes, My first was a Ninja 500 as well, I've had three of those. Fantastic bikes with a LOT of value for the dollar. I'm up in Port Richey, just north of Clearwater.
