New guy in TN

Hey! Just joining the gixxer forum. Picked up a used 04 750 after finally getting permission from the lady to have a bike again (previously I've only ever had Kawis 636 and zx10r).

Not that it matters with those Chinese plastics but there are some who trade/buy plastics because they like a particular color not available in their cc bike. Gotta wonder why it says 600 if it's a 750. There was a member who was going to or maybe did buy 250 stickers for his 750/1000 claiming it was going to be a sleeper and/or for the laughs

Did you take the plastics off and look at the engine number to confirm this?

Yeah, I'd check the Vin and the motor. Could be a possible swap. That type of shit makes me nervous. I don't trust many folks with a wrench in their hand. If the frame/motor size is a mismatch, I'd take some time to go over the motor mounts, swing arm mounts, triple clamps, axles.... Ya know, the stuff that keeps you alive. Swapped plastics and a swapped motor = nasty molestation in my book, could be anything. Totalled, blown up, or even both.

Re: New guy in TN

Yeah same it was driving me crazy, but I checked the frame vin and the title and they both were 750. Where is it located on the motor? I did a search of the site and I'm not seeing it where people were saying to check. The oil calls for 2800ml and it redlines at 14k

FWIW; per the butt dyno, it feels faster than my 636 did and slower than my zx10

Definitely need to get her ready for the dragon!

And yeah definitely agree. I changed the oil and there was a heck of a lot more than 2800ml in there.. I know this because the excess filled up 3 quart containers and my pint of beer's can
