Well after skimming through and reading some of the Starting Lines, I guess I'm that guy, I've road dirt most all my life handful of street machines. Now decided it was time for a street bike, go big or go home I was thinking. At 45 years old 6 foot 250 pounds a litre bike would suit me just fine, I have always loved the blue and white GSXR 750 since high school, class of "89 and when I seen the 2016 Commemorative Edition I had to have it. Bought it ,trailered it home, no motorcycle permit, no motorcycle insurance borrowed a friend's Yamaha Zuma scooter for a few weeks passed my DMV test on it while the 1000 sat in the garage with six tenths of a mile on it. Now licensed and insured I have just over 800 miles logged on it, can't believe I waited this long to get a streetbike what an amazing feeling. I'm sure more thrills to come.

Lol, the GSRX1000 does more than 90mph in 1st gear, assuming you can keep the front wheel on the ground that is.....

I hate to say it, but you are part of a demographic where killed and seriously injured risk is exceptionally high (middle aged people buying a sports bike with no real road experience). I'm sure you are a sensible guy and want to stay alive, here's a few suggestions:

- Take some extra rider training
- Make sure you have really good gear (helment, gloves, jacket, motorcycle jeans and boots).
- Try to get some track time
- Avoid group rides for the first few years

Take is easy, I hope you enjoy your bike and stay in one piece.
