hey guys and girls, just joined the site & figured I would say hi im Shaun and come from near Manchester (sandbach if anyone knows this small town), I purchased a 2010 gsxr600 last week and love the bike, the only thing I have noticed is how loud the induction seems to be & the engine seems on the loud side but im told thats normal with the timing chain.
anyway loving the bike I have only managed 150 miles but im also quite ill at the moment, my first proper big bike as I have just gone from my a2 restricted to this beauty.
completely standard example with 9.2k miles on her, hoping to get a full akrapovic at somepoint & make her my own really. struggling to find anywhere for parts though if im being honest!
thats me done moaning! looking forward to speaking with you guys and maybe even see some of you uk riders on the roads!
ill get some pics up once I manage to upload them!
Welcome to the site, I'm from the UK too (South West).
Tell us a bit about your riding background, did you do 2 years on an A2 license riding a 44 BHP bike before buying your GSXR?
If you haven't already I'd suggest taking some advanced riding training, perhaps with the IAM, you new bike is a massive step up from a restricted license so you will be quite a risk for the first year or so.
Glad it's not just a USA site then haha, yeah I've been riding n off since 16 had an off at 17 which set me back a little then both a drz400 for a while, would love another one for abit of fun, I had 2.5/3years on my a2 at 47bhp then re did my test, power wise, there is abit of difference but I'm confident riding within my limits for the time being and just get used to how the bike feels.
Welcome mate, sorry to hear you are ill
i hope you get better soon and back on the bike as the weather is finally getting bike weather
evil-bay is the place to go for a UK rider really, if your note well you can shop from your ipad bud
most of the reputable UK and Global motorcycle dealers use it and you'll also find a plethora of used second hand parts as well for your machine to bling it up and make it "yours"
i often see full exhausts for sale from bikes that have been scrapped or broken for spares and are perfectly good parts
ride safe and enjoy the bike, make sure you respect her cos the 600s will also bite you
take care
Johnny
thank you, yeah I don't fancy missing our few days of summer! getting there though, another few days and I should be fit again fingers crossed!
I've been looking on ebay but I haven't managed to find any second hand parts so to speak, found lots of new parts fetching big money from small companies, id expect from places like demon tweaks/sportbikeshop.
Well that was fast wtf! I think as soon as anyone types the word's: France,French,Frenchman,or Froggy ****,le skid's warning settings alarm him and he pounces immediately
:lol
While all that is true, it was just a 'choose your battles' situation this time.
I saw that @cainyboy had made a post and was about to pounce on the effeminate limey douche nozzle. However, when I read the thread and realized I'd be greatly outnumbered by all the brits, I decided to play nice and cut-in to you 'murkins instead.:flipoff
They were ready long ago. Same as the very first round of requests (with Mike's company stickers), I've had my head up my ass for the past month because budget doesn't have $400-500 free to pay for printing the whole job and I inexplicably have a panic attack when it comes to asking people to pay me in advance...... so my head goes up further, it's gotta be up near my pancreas by now.
